Welcome to yoga with Margherita:
Yoga has been a constant part of her life for the last 14 years. She
has been actively practising in the UK and Italy and has been
exposed to Bhakty, Kriya, and Hatha Yoga. The main influences on her
style of Hatha yoga are Vinyasa, Iyengar, Yin/Yang, Anusara and
Parayoga®
. She has been studying with many of the
world's leading yoga teachers doing workshops, retreats and
trainings with the likes of Jivamukti, Shiva Rae, Donna Farhi, Adhil
Palkhivalha, Richard Freeman, Tias Little, Sarah Powers, Doug
Keller and Bridget Woods Kramer. She has been studying for several years with Rod Stryker and
she consider him her main teacher. *
Drawing from the resources of different traditions, Margherita has a
gentle yet powerful approach to yoga supporting the need of each
individual. She enjoys being creative and experimental with her
classes, working with a variety of themes, different sequences and a
range of postures to help students deepen their practice and
understanding.
Her style is a holistic approach to yoga that treats the whole
person: body, mind and spirit, not only on the mat but in daily
life. she incorporates asana (postures), pranayama (breath work),
bandha (locks), mudras (body positions or attitudes of practice),
kriya (internalization of energy to purify consciousness, laya
(dissolving unwanted patterns of behavior), chakras (energy centers),
kundalini (awakening dormant energy), visualization,
self-reflection, chanting, meditation and mantra (sacred word).
Under this style, a teacher is necessary as a guide to accelerate
the journey. Her approach offers personal meditation practices
designed to overcome life obstacles and bring about individual
clarity and vitality. The centre of the practice is “Agni,”
connection to the internal sacred fire that purifies the body and
mind and grows power and capacity.
Margherita believes that everyone can benefit from yoga. Her yoga
classes are designed for students of all ages and abilities, from
those wanting to strengthen and stabilize to those needing
relaxation, stress reduction and peace of mind. There are students
who need to learn to breathe properly and those who are spiritual
seekers. She believes that if you can breathe, you can do yoga and
benefit from it.
Margherita teaches yoga classes at a number of venues
in
London and health clubs, renowned yoga centres such the Life Centre (in Notting hill), she covers regularly at Triyoga
(Primrose Hill and Soho), and teaches
privately. She
mentors yoga teachers in training at Yoga Campus Teacher Training programme.
Margherita leads yoga retreats in the U.K &
Italy and throughout the world.
Margherita is British Wheel of Yoga and Yoga Alliance
