travel
There are many flight options to Goa either on direct charters or more flexible scheduled flights via Mumbai or Delhi. It’s a good idea to book flights sooner rather than later to take advantage of cheaper seats.
If getting a schedule flight I recommend Air India or one of the airlines that transits in the Middle East rather than India as you can get your bags checked straight through to Goa. Occasionally when delayed people have found they have missed their connection as they did not have enough time to get baggage in Mumbai and recheck it in to Goa.
Also consider flying with British Airways, especially if you prefer traveling light. They offer a generous hand luggage allowance, making it a convenient option for stress-free travel without the hassle of checked bags.
Mandrem is approx 1.5 hours by taxi from the airport. Pickup (30€ each way) is advisable and can be arranged through Ashiyana.
UK citizens and many other nationalities require an evisa, which can be obtained online here.
things to see and do
Between yoga sessions, there’s plenty of time to unwind—whether that means relaxing on the beach, diving into a good book, connecting with new friends, enjoying a massage, or exploring the local area. You can stroll to nearby beaches like Arambol to the north or Ashvem to the south, or even take a refreshing siesta.
On Wednesday, we take a break from yoga, giving you the opportunity to visit the famous Anjuna Market or join an optional longer excursion to nearby towns and temples, soaking in the vibrant local culture. Some guests enjoy exploring other markets or experiencing Goa’s lively nightlife.
Ashiyana also offers a variety of evening programs, including meditations, chanting, sound baths, and more.
