YOGA RETREAT IN ANDALUCÍA, SPAIN AT SURYALILA
19 – 26 May 2018
Join Margherita Dal Pra on the perfect Mediterranean style retreat in May – a yoga retreat blending good health with good living! Meditate and practice yoga, savour delicious organic & vegetarian cuisine, relax by the pool and let your stresses fall away.
We’ll stay at Suryalila, a unique and beautiful old renovated olive farm that’s become one of Spain’s best yoga retreat centres. Suryalila is a calm and peaceful retreat, perfectly located to visit many of the stunningly beautiful and culturally rich towns and cities of Andalucía, as well as the gorgeous unspoiled beaches of the Costa de Luz.
You can choose from different levels of accommodation to suit every budget, from glamping in the olive grove to relaxing in the luxury of deluxe doubles.
The mouth-wateringly delicious meals prepared at Suryalila are gourmet organic vegetarian, with vegan options. Organic olive oil is produced on the property along with fresh eggs and organic fruit and vegetables. Additional fruit and vegetables are supplied by local organic farms.

This yoga retreat is lead by Margherita Dal Pra, the founder of YogaM. Margherita is a very experienced yoga and meditation teacher with 14 years of teaching experience. Her classes are a synthesis of Anusara bio-mechanical principles of alignment, along with heart-centered themes and the lineage and depth of knowledge of Tantric Hatha energetics in the Para Yoga® style. Read more about her background here.
This yoga retreat is open to all ages and levels of fitness and experience. Every session will have attention to detail (alignment), awareness of breath (pranayama), openness to grace (attitude) and intelligent sequencing (vinyasa krama). The morning yoga classes will be more upbeat and energizing, and the afternoon classes more relaxed.
All sessions will be adapted to the group and modifications of the poses will be offered to cater for all participants and to ensure that everyone is receiving the benefits of the practice and individual attention.
There’s a lovely salt-water swimming pool, dotted with sun loungers, and far reaching countryside views. A perfect place to soak up the spring sunshine between yoga classes and spend a lazy afternoon.
If you feel a bit more active, you can detoxify and relax in the sweat lodge, go riding or rent a bicycle to explore the stunning countryside. There are lots of beautiful places to discover and you can easily reach the local white villages or travel further afield to Ronda, Cadiz or Seville for sightseeing, shopping, flamenco and tapas. We’ll have two afternoons or one full day free during the training to enjoy some leisure time, do some hiking or even horse riding.
There are also therapists available to give bodywork sessions, including Thai Yoga massage, deep tissue massage, Swedish massage, Ayurvedic massage and other healing arts.
I have just come back from a Margherita’s retreat in Almeria and have only praise. The place was exceptional and the group – totally amazing. I arrived feeling closed, tight, tired and in a low state of mind. With Margherita’s practice, teachings and nurture, I now feel revived, strong, inspired and positive! She starts with the foundations of yoga slowly building up to more complex flows and restorative class – which worked tremendously. As well as the yoga, she provides advice on wellbeing and nutrition, leaving me with true intentions to take much better care of myself. It’s been a transformative experience and I can’t thank her enough for giving me a wonderful feeling.
My word for the week was ”Renew” and I have come back from the lovely, outstanding retreat in Puglia with a clarity of thought and determination to change things for the better. I always learn from you. You always give so much and we are lucky that you are such a dedicated teacher giving more than just repeating a series of Asana. Thank you for the people, the divine location and food and mostly for your continuing inspiration. There is just one more Hindu Goddess to add to the list. Marguerita, divine Goddess, fruity and spicey and possessing the jucious mangos of all the deity.
Dear Margherita, thank you for the most important week of my life so far at your retreat! Something deep inside me has been changed and I came back to London a better person! With still so much more to learn, I look forward to continue learning with you. You are an incredible teacher and an inspiration and I felt a deep connection with you and our amazing yoga group, we were blessed and I love you!
