Wellbeing Yoga Retreat at Tilton House (East Sussex) 2 – 4 May 2014
Date(s) - 02/05/2014 - 04/05/2014
Take some time out with this nurturing retreat to replenish and revive. The weekend will include energising hatha flow + align yoga, as well as a more restorative practice, deep relaxation and meditation. More beginners are welcome, and postures can be adapted for injuries/health issues (not suitable for absolute beginners). There’ll also be plenty of time to relax by roaring log fires, go on a country walk with sea-views, or enjoy a massage.
Yoga / Programme
Our weekend will begin on Friday evening at 6.00 pm with a gentle asana practice and the deep relaxation of yoga nidra, followed by dinner at 8.00 pm. After breakfast on Saturday, we will practise from 10.00 am to 12.30 pm (asana, pranayama and meditation). After lunch you will be free to explore the gardens or the countryside, or just to chill out at the venue. Our afternoon class will be from 5.00 to 7.00 pm, and will introduce more pranayama and meditation techniques. Saturday dinner will be at 7.30 pm. Sunday morning’s class will be from 10.00 am to 12.30 pm, and will again incorporate asana, pranayama and meditation. Lunch will follow with farewell. The weekend provides the opportunity of wonderful walking in the countryside. Classes will be suitable for all levels of experience except absolute beginners. Depending on how many are booked for the monday, the sunday will have the same programme as the saturday and monday will finish after lunch. Please let me know at time of cooking your preference.
The house was completely redecorated in May 2007, and all 7 bedrooms were decorated using natural materials. Every room has plenty of character and all have views over either the Sussex Weald or Downs. The garden has many mature trees, you could sling one of the many hammocks and relax to the sound of birdsong. For the more energetic there is a tennis court hidden behind a row of ash trees. The firepit in a woodland clearing provides the perfect setting for spinning yarns and stargazing as night closes in. It’s known that Lydia Lopokova the Russian Ballerina was inspired to dance on the lawns under the moonlight.
