YOGA HATHA FLOW MASTER CLASS
WITH MARGHERITA
Backbends: Free your spine
Free the spine,
awaken you heart! Backbends can help strengthen the back by creating space and
length in the spine and surrounding muscles. Moving out the stagnant fluid that
accumulates and gets trapped in this area. Back bends can ease tight muscles
and strengthen weak muscles. They improve circulation and stimulate the release
of pain-relieving endorphins. With this special master class you will learn
back bends with a quality of attention that frees energy and strengthens
mindfulness. Special attention to learning appropriate warming up and warming
down for backbends so that we may all stay injury free and create an entirely
new dimension and depth to explore in your yoga practice. Please note that this class is not suitable
for absolute beginners. Namaste!

Twists: the poses of neutralization
Forward bends, side bends, and backbends bring relief, but twists really get to the core of your tension. Only twists can effectively stretch the deepest layer of back muscles: the small ones closest to your spine. The more you practice twists, the more you realize they don't just release tightness; they also dissipate the frustration, anxiety, or fear that's often behind physical tension. On many levels, twisting is more about what you let go of than what you accomplish. Twists are poses that slow us down, making us move with great care and intelligence. They stretch the muscles of the sides of the body and can be very useful for “changing gears” after both backbends and forward bends, allowing the long muscles of the trunk to be released. Twists also effect the abdominal organs in powerful and healthy ways. Throughout this class we will explore both in static and flowing style, standing, sitting and lying twists, discovering what benefits they create energetically and physically. Students will have fun exploring a deeper asana experience and work safely towards more demanding postures. This class is geared to all level but no absolute beginners please. Participants should have a minimum of six months of active yoga practice.

The main influences on her style of Hatha yoga are the Ashtanga Vinyasa,
Dynamic, Viniyoga, Shadow Yoga, Iyengar
and Anusara schools. She has studied with many of the world's leading
yoga teachers doing workshops, retreats and training with the likes of
Jivamukti, Shiva Rea, Donna Farhi, Adhil Palkhivalha, Richard Freeman, Tias
Little, Rod Stryker and Sarah Powers.
Drawing from the different traditions of the Khrishnamacharia lineage, her
style takes yoga to a deeper level by integrating rhythmic breathing with
conscious movement with intelligent asana sequencing (Vinyasa Krama). As in all
physical yoga, the student will increase strength and flexibility -- and by
uniting body and breath, will learn to move from moment to moment
with absolute awareness. With her gentle yet powerful approach to yoga,
her classes become a meditation in action and are enjoyable and fun. She
likes working with a variety of themes and sequences to help the students
deepen their practice and understanding.
