LOCATION: Sabina is a perfect location for a tranquil and restful yoga retreat. In addition to the yoga practice you can also explore the countryside and the immediate surrounding area is superb for walking... A winding country road leads from the property to the charming medieval town of Torri in Sabina three kilometres away. Or you may prefer to just lounge by the pool chilling out & taking in the fantastic views. The property consists of two 17th century stone buildings on 4 acres of land with an outdoor swimming pool.

The property is in the heart of the Sabine Hills, just north of Rome near Umbria, set amidst olive groves, woodlands and a rolling landscape. The surrounding area is unspoilt farmland and the house and grounds are peaceful and quiet.

The grounds comprise seven lush acres with a natural spring, pond, gardens and outdoor swimming pool.

The houses, both beautifully restored, are situated on a hill amidst undulating farmland and forests. Around the buildings are spacious terraces and a covered portico for meals. There are stunning views of the grounds, with its hillside olive groves and fruit trees and spectacular evening sunsets. The landscape provides quiet and secluded areas on the grounds for resting, reading and meditation. A natural spring supplies the property with abundant fresh water. There is also a small pond and a kitchen garden with a variety of fresh vegetables and herbs. The houses and grounds are very private and peaceful as well as being easily accessible.

 

 

YOGA: There will be a morning and an evening practice each day. The morning sessions are invigorating and cleansing for the mind and body, and the evening practise incorporates meditation, yoga nidra and relaxation.
You have time to be still and silent, or as active as you feel - a chance to relax, renew and restore with like minded people.   There is an indoor converted yoga room, with large windows over looking the hills & trees. Within the grounds next to the olive groves there is a gorgeous and spacious open air yoga platform with stunning & panoramic views of the rolling landscape. The setting is quiet, rustic and an ideal place for spiritual practice.  This week will give students the opportunity to practice yoga in an environment which is calm and relaxing. each individual will have the opportunity to practice at his/hers own level, making the week suitable for students of different abilities and those who may have practiced other yoga disciplines. Please note: although all level of experience is welcome, this retreat is not for absolute beginners but for those who already have some experience and are keen to improve their practice, deepen their understanding (physically, mentally, spiritually) and experience the transformative essence of yoga - bringing the benefits into their everyday lives.

 

 

TREATMENTS: There is a massage room where a range of massage treatments are offered at very reasonable rates. Advance notice of interest is preferable and sessions should be booked at the beginning of the week.

 

MEALS: The meals are vegetarian and special diets can be accommodated if required and ordered in advance. Before the morning yoga practice teas, fruit and juices will be available, there is an area near the pool where to make tea at anytime. Light breakfast lunch & supper will be served alfresco using fresh local ingredients and produce.

 

ACCOMMODATION: All the rooms are beautifully designed in a natural and simple style, in a combination of modern and old. The materials and fabrics complement the character of the buildings and their setting, creating an environment which is calm, comfortable and practical. Yurts within the grounds are also available for a reduced fee. We can accommodate up to 20 people on the holiday. Three of the bedrooms have their own bathroom, one has its own loo and basin, others share bathrooms between two rooms. Rooms are designed in a simple natural style – a combination of old and new. Furnishings and fabrics complement the buildings and their setting creating a calm and comfortable environment.  Rooms are allocated on a first come first serve basis, so I suggest you book it in time!

 

COST*: 875 Euros  ( * Early bird discount: Price 800 Euros if you book before 31st May!) and includes all yoga classes, meals (full board) and accommodation based on 2 or 3 sharing. For single occupancy a supplement of 285 Euros will be required. Prices exclude: travel, insurance & transfers and one evening meal out at a restaurant and transport to and from, massage and other therapies. Booking: A non refundable deposit of €300 for shared occupancy and €400 for single occupancy paid in UKŁ (**) is required to book your space, the remainder of the cost of the holiday is due on arrival in cash in Euros.  Refunds for cancellations are at our discretion. GETTING THERE: In Sabina is within easy access of Rome and its airports. It is approximately one hour from the centre of the city (by car or train) and around 1.5 hours drive from both airports.

If you are travelling to us by train from the airport you can take a train from Fiumicino take the Orte train and get off at Stimigliano where we will pick you up. The train ticket costs €8.00.

From Ciampino airport (Ryanair, Easyjet) make your way to Termini station in the centre of Rome and from there the underground to Tiburtina station to take the Terni train, getting off at Stimigliano (45 minutes).  The train ticket costs €2.90.

Arrivals and departures Arrival time on Saturday is after 4.30pm and departure time is by 10.00am (or the 9.40 train) on the following Saturday. Please let Margherita know by email once you have booked your flight how you will be getting to In Sabina.

 

What to bring: Light loose  clothing for yoga, some  warm clothes and waterproof jacket, swimming costume and towel for the  swimming pool and hot springs, walking shoes. All yoga props is provided but I suggest you take your own yoga mat.
