Welcome to yoga with Margherita:
Yoga has been a constant part of her life for the last 16 years. The main influences on her
style of Hatha yoga are Anusara®
and
Parayoga®,
Vinyasa, Iyengar and Yin yoga. She has been studying with many of the
world's leading yoga teachers doing workshops, retreats and
trainings with the likes of Jivamukti, Shiva Rea, Donna Farhi, Adhil
Palkhivalha, Richard Freeman, Tias Little, Sarah Powers, Doug
Keller, Bridget Woods Kramer, Ross Rayburn and Rod Stryker.
Margherita has a
gentle yet powerful approach to yoga supporting the need of each
individual. She enjoys being creative and experimental with her
classes, working with a variety of themes, different sequences and a
range of postures to help students deepen their practice and
understanding.
More recently her
teachings reflect mainly two major influences: Parayoga®
and Anusara®
yoga.
Parayoga ®
as taught by Rod Stryker with whom she has studied since 2003, offers students the opportunity to experience the richness of the
yoga tradition by incorporating all aspects of yoga. These
techniques include asana, Pranayama, bandha, mudra, meditation,
chanting, mantra, kriya, visualization and more. These techniques,
link students to the very heart and true power of Yoga’s potential.
Para means “supreme, ultimate, the fullest extent, or the place
where our very best efforts culminate”.
She also incorporates in her practice and teachings the therapeutics of Anusara®
yoga. Anusara means to be aligned with nature, to follow your heart.
It is a uniquely integrated style of hatha yoga developed by John
Friend. Anusara® Yoga is grounded in the universal principles of
alignment. The actions and alignments of the poses are deeply
therapeutic and are in accord with precise principles of both
biomechanics and subtle energy flows in the body. Margherita is in
the process of becoming an Anusara Inspired teacher ®.
Margherita believes that everyone can benefit from yoga. Her yoga
classes are designed for students of all ages and abilities, from
those wanting to strengthen and stabilize to those needing
relaxation, stress reduction and peace of mind. There are students
who need to learn to breathe properly and those who are spiritual
seekers. She believes that if you can breathe, you can do yoga and
benefit from it.
She teaches yoga classes at a number of venues
in
London and health clubs, renowned yoga centres such the Life Centre (in Notting hill), she covers regularly at Triyoga
(Primrose Hill and Soho), and teaches
privately. She
mentors yoga teachers in training at Yoga Campus Teacher Training programme.
She leads yoga retreats in the U.K &
Italy and throughout the world.
Margherita is British Wheel of Yoga and Yoga Alliance
Certified.
